Just like martial arts you start at the white belt and progress your way to the black belt. I've noticed around 12 hours of fasting that it becomes more difficult to stay on track. Knowing I was going to get a reward of a new color every 12 hours helped. A reminder looking down at the band, I could finally have the discipline to stay on track and focus on my fasting goals. Getting to that next band wasn't easy. But it worked for me. I noticed how much they actually helped me fight that urge to just start tomorrow or next week next month or even next year. I recommend doing the 72-hour water fast followed by a low carb diet because that's what worked for me. Low carb in my opinion is consuming less then 50 grams of carbs per day.
Fasting isn't for everyone. Just like any change in your diet or exercise you should always check with your doctor first to see what's best for you.
